Tripp Lite's B042-016 NetController� 16-Port Rackmount KVM Switch is the smart solution for controlling multiple computers and servers from one monitor, keyboard and mouse. Requiring just 1U of rack space, the B042-016 features a rugged housing, premium connectors and superior functionality to ensure trouble-free operation in demanding high-availability environments. The B042-016 can control sixteen servers/computers directly, or up to 256 by daisy-chaining additional KVM switches. It is compatible with both PS/2 and USB computers using Tripp Lite P780-Series combo KVM cable kits (available separately).

The B042-016 offers a comprehensive, cost-effective network management solution that installs in 1U of rack space. No server-resident software is required, so server performance and reliability are never compromised. Upgradable firmware fine-tunes compatibility with emerging standards.
SUPPORTS MULTIPLE PLATFORMS
The B042-016 supports both PS/2 and USB connections (Tripp Lite P780-Series combo KVM cable kits required; sold separately). Because compatibility is based on common hardware standards rather than system software dependencies, almost any platform can be accommodated. Connect multiple versions of multiple platforms in any combination, including Windows�, Mac�, UNIX�, Linux, BSD and DOS.
SIMPLE, FLEXIBLE NETWORK CONTROL
The B042-016 is designed to ease multi-server management in data centers, server rooms and other high-density environments. An advanced on screen display (OSD) with high-resolution QXGA video up to 2048 x 1536 provides a graphical user interface with management tools including custom port labeling, auto-scanning and panel array mode. Users may also select a connected computer using on-console pushbuttons or keyboard hotkey commands. Two LEDs per KVM port indicate (1) when a computer is connected to a KVM port and powered on, and (2) when a computer is selected.
CONTROL MULTIPLE COMPUTERS
The B042-016 is capable of controlling up to 256 servers/computers by daisy-chaining additional B042-Series KVMs. This gives network managers the flexibility to add capacity when it's needed, accommodating growing data center requirements without disrupting existing equipment.

The B042-016 accepts an optional IP remote access unit (Tripp Lite model B051-000) that provides secure IP remote access to connected servers/computers without requiring additional rack space. IP remote access enables system administration, BIOS-level troubleshooting, GUI application installations, equipment reboots and more to be accomplished from any location using a standard Web browser or multi-platform client software.
SECURE EVERY CONNECTION
The B042-016 offers two levels of password protection (administrator/user) to prevent unauthorized persons from gaining access to connected servers/computers.

ADDITIONAL KVM ACCESSORIES (SOLD SEPARATELY)
To connect computers to the KVM: one Tripp Lite P780-Series combo KVM cable kits per server/computer is required (see below). To daisy-chain from the B042-016: additional B042-016 or B042-008 KVM switches and cable kits; consult the owner's manual for detailed information about daisy-chain configurations. B051-000 IP REMOTE ACCESS UNIT
For use with compatible KVM switches including Tripp Lite's B042-016 Rackmount Console KVM Switch. The B051-000 provides access to networked computers/computers from any location via LAN, WAN, or the Internet. Supports 10Base-T, 100Base-T, TCP/IP, and HTTP through the Java Client.
