Tripp Lite's B070-016-19-IP NetCommander� 16-Port Rackmount Console Cat5 KVM Switch is the smart solution for controlling multiple computers and servers in IT applications. It combines a keyboard, touchpad, 19-in. color LCD and 16-port KVM switch in a 1U rack drawer for compact storage and easy access without compromising control over connected servers. The heavy-duty enclosure, high-quality LCD, premium connectors and uncomplicated controls ensure trouble-free operation in demanding high-availability environments. The B070-016-19-IP can control sixteen servers/computers directly, or up to 256 by cascading additional KVM switches. It is compatible with both PS/2 and USB computers using Tripp Lite B078-101-series server interface units and inexpensive Cat5 patch cables (available separately). Built-in IP access capability enables servers/computers to be controlled from any location via LAN, WAN or Internet.

ALL-IN-ONE NETWORK MANAGEMENT FOR CRITICAL SYSTEMS

The B070-016-19-IP offers a complete network management solution. It combines a 16-port KVM switch, keyboard, touch pad, numeric keypad, 19-in. LCD and built-in IP remote access capability in a compact housing that stores neatly in a 1U rack drawer and pulls out when needed. No server-resident software is required, so server performance and reliability are never compromised. Upgradable firmware fine-tunes compatibility with emerging standards.

SUPPORTS MULTIPLE PLATFORMS

The B070-016-19-IP supports both PS/2 and USB connections using B078-101-series USB or PS/2 server interface units and inexpensive, readily available Cat5 patch cables. Connected computers/servers can be located up to 100 feet from the switch. Because compatibility is based on common hardware standards rather than system software dependencies, almost any platform can be accommodated. Connect multiple versions of multiple platforms in any combination, including Windows�, Mac�, UNIX�, Linux, and DOS operating systems.

SIMPLE, FLEXIBLE NETWORK CONTROL

The B070-016-19-IP is designed to ease multi-server management in data centers, server rooms and other high-density environments. BIOS-level access allows network administrators to solve complex problems efficiently and restore service before downtime affects productivity. An advanced on screen display (OSD) with high-resolution VGA video up to 1280 x 1024 provides a graphical user interface with management tools including custom port labeling, auto-scanning and panel array mode. Users may also select a connected computer using on-console pushbuttons or keyboard hotkey commands. Two LEDs per KVM port indicate (1) when a computer is connected to a KVM port and powered on, and (2) when a computer is selected.

CONTROL MULTIPLE COMPUTERS

The B070-016-19-IP is capable of controlling up to 256 servers/computers by cascading additional Tripp Lite B072-series KVM switches. This gives network managers the flexibility to add capacity when it's needed, accommodating growing data center requirements without disrupting existing equipment.

ACCESS SERVERS ANYWHERE WITH BUILT-IN IP REMOTE ACCESS CAPABILITY

The B070-016-19-IP provides secure IP remote access to connected servers/computers without requiring additional rack space. IP remote access enables system administration, BIOS-level troubleshooting, GUI application installations, equipment reboots and more to be accomplished from any location using a standard Web browser or multi-platform client software. Dual bus support permits simultaneous access for one local and one remote user. The LCD incorporates a grayscale option to improve transfer speed in low bandwidth situations.

SECURE EVERY CONNECTION

The B070-016-19-IP offers two levels of password protection (administrator/user) to prevent unauthorized persons from gaining access to connected servers/computers. IP remote access is further protected with security features including password protection, advanced encryption, bandwidth-optimized video and detailed activity logging.

ADDITIONAL KVM ACCESSORIES (SOLD SEPARATELY)

To connect servers/computers to the KVM: one Tripp Lite B078-101-series server interface unit and one Cat5 patch cable per server/computer are required (see below).
